MATTHEW MALONE, AIA, LEED AP
As a senior member of Taconic’s new life science subsidiary, Elevate Research Properties, Matt oversees marketing and branding, base building and fit-out design, leasing, as well as asset and portfolio strategy for all life science investments. Matt has over 25 years of experience in the design, programming, and construction of science and research facilities. A leader in the field, Matt has worked with tenants and institutions from the full array of corporate pharmaceutical companies to early-stage biotechnology startups on project and building typologies including translational healthcare, higher academic teaching, as well as Federal research facilities. Matt’s approach focuses on the importance of learning the process and concepts behind the science itself, the workflow, and the functional needs of those who the space is designed for. This is combined with learned intangibles to be able to develop the scientific workplace as an efficient and collaborative discovery ecosystem. Matt’s overall knowledge and experience enables him to create real estate solutions that provide function and flexibility while bringing to bear current workplace and collaboration strategies. Matt’s writing and work have been recognized for innovation and the integration of the latest science tools and technology including Recognition for Innovative Systems in the prestigious Lab of the Year Awards. Prior to Taconic, Matt was a Partner and the Practice Leader for Science and Technology Architecture at Perkins & Will’s New York Studio where he was a design leader in the market as well as a sought-after consultant and advisor.
